Veolia and Huawei partner to use IoT for garbage collection

US_Garbage_TruckGarbage collection is one of the biggest headaches of all cities. To make these systems smarter with IoT, Veolia and Huawei have partnered so that their sensors and connection components can be combined to measure the degree of recyclability and plentiness of trash containers.

Huawei is already using these technologies in the Chinese city of Chengdu and both companies plan to introduce them in Dubai, where Veolia is applying to a big contract. This won’t be the first smart city system of Veolia, which is already collaborating with IBM to control water distribution pipes with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
